We stayed three nights here when it was owned by Hampton Inn & Suites and were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff, the clean room, and easy access to Opryland and freeways. They have a good breakfast - not restaurant quality but much better than a muffin and coffee. Elm Hill Pike is a busy road & traffic noises woke me up several times. Walls are a bit thin and the teenagers next door didn't go to sleep until after 2 a.m. There are no interior cooridors - all rooms are accessed from outside. Didn't try out the pool, but it looked nice. Towels are standard Hampton Inn and are nice.
Note: stayed here again & asked for a room in back this time around. Slept much better without the traffic noise disturbances. Service was still great.
I continued to stay here on several househunting/buying trips in the summer of 2004. Yes, there are more modern hotels with better ammenities.... But, I have nothing but good to say about the staff and I'd rather have smiling faces & excellent service. Several of them even remembered my name & why I was visiting town. :-)
**I HAVE NOT STAYED HERE SINCE BAYMONT INN & SUITES TOOK OWNERSHIP OF THIS PROPERTY FROM HAMPTON INN & SUITES.
Unique Quality: Best part about this hotel is: I got the room for $53 per night & it only takes 5 minutes to get to the Opry. Hotels in the Opry area cost much more.
This hotel is also a short (10 - 15 minute) drive from the airport, zoo, Hermitage, & downtown. There's lots of construction & roads fork frequently, so pay attention to road signs when driving.
Directions: Take Briley Parkway to Elm Hill Pike, head East on Elm Hill Pike, it's on your left next to the Waffle House.
