Dance Clubs in Nashville

by HotRodEtte

My good friend recently moved to Nashville, and while she can tolerate country music, her passion is electronic and techno. I'm going to visit in a few weeks & am trying to find a dance club that plays electronic music. Anyone have any suggestions?

No, can't help you.
Maybe now you could invent a new dance scene "Techno Country"
I can see it now, Dolly Parton singing a tune to 140bpm.

tell her to check out "Bar Nashville", a high energy dance club in downtown Nashville in an area called "The District".

Very high energy, and they might play some electronic or techno, but no country.

Well 2 places come to mind. Karma, and Mai. I would check those out. They arent true electronic joints but they are def not the country type. they are more dance, posh oriented. Same guy owns both of them i think.

Travel Tips for Nashville

Do everything. I mean it!

by DrewV

Do everything. I mean it. Nashville is a city for the senses. Wander through the District and see the historic buildings; stop by the Bluebird or Exit/In and hear the great music; relax in Rotier's and taste the best burgers in the South; if you have a car, head out to the Loveless Cafe and smell the best Country ham in America; and sit on Riverfront Park and feel the pulse of the South's most vibrant city. I grew up here, so I've got countless memories. I most miss the genuine friendliness of Nashvillians. Lonely Planet calls Nashville one of the world's most genuinely honest cities in the world. That's my hometown.

Souvenirs Anyone??

by grishaV1 about A Few Shops

Absolutely dozens of shops to buy yourself or friends a souvenirs. Most every restaurant has a little area where you can get memoribilia, alá Hard Rock Café style. T-shirts are my favorite to buy for friends, shot glasses, coffee mugs, and the like. If you want to get tricked out completely cowboy style, lots of shops for that also. Candy stores, postcards, you name, they got it. If you are checking out the Broadway area, there are probably 40 along or off that strip. T-shirts, postcards, baseball caps, your choice. They have everything of course, its a visitor´s town in many ways. On the first foto, I had to buy one of the "b-tch" shirts which shows all the different kinds, "lazy", "stupid", "young", LOL not meant in derogatory to anyone, but just funny little cartoon characters on it. It´s an inside joke :-D Also the colourful van at the bottom, was the special car at the restaurant "The Mellow Mushroom". I would have liked to buy the van, but too much to ship and they were´nt selling .... Most things are cheap to reasonable, only vary by a few cents from shop to shop. Just depends on how much you are willing to pay.

Somewhat of a Chain, but Great!

by kristinaw about Alabama Grill

This place is amazing! It's great down home, southern cooking. Everyone I take there enjoys it. You can get great fried chicken and mashed potatoes or baby back ribs. It's wonderful!! The decor is great too, it features awesome country music membrobellia. Vegetable plate. Their veggies are great!

Solve A Mystery At Dinner With Friends

by grishaV1 about Miss Marple´s Dinner Theatre

Miss Marple´s Dinner Theatre, this is a type also popular in Berlin, where you go not just to eat a meal, but be entertained and interact with other people. You get to solve a mystery of which is both comedy and musical, the servers are very special because they are good actors and singers as well. This is the kind of thing I would recommend for a special evening with friends or family, like at holiday times or celebrations. Reservations are important, to make sure they have enough space and interaction for everyone, but are not completely necessary.

Prices are rather high for just casual dining, its 50,00 per person, and 35,00 for children under 12 years old, but everything is included, dinner, props, laughs. You can just walk in, but seating depends on if they have space. After 7pm daily, and now they have lunch from 11am-2pm. You can call for reservations and also email, 615-242-8000 or visit www.missmarples.com "Runaway Groom" is currently the play/dinner drama-comedy that is being held. They are at 135 2nd avenue North in downtown Nashville, just off Broadway and Commerce. Dinners are basic American things like Prime Rib, Chichen roasted, grilled, all kinds of ways, salads, vegetables and desserts. They do not serve alcohol although you can bring if you like.

Country music fun

by Burke_Kevin

I highly recomend that you visit the country music hall of fame when you are in Nashville. It is very educational and enjoyable at the same time. If you like country music you will enjoy the visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
