Basic hotel, close to downtown

This was a basic, mid-price range hotel right beside music row (all the recording studios etc). There were a few bars just up the road from the hotel on the corner and although we never got a chance to visit them they always seemed busy enough. The walk to downtown area, Broadway (Honky-tonk row) is 10-15 minutes and seemed pretty safe. Or you can get a local taxi for 8-10 dollars. Try and get a taxi number when you are there as the ones the hotel called were foreigners who didnt seem to know their way around. There is also a petrol/gas station about 5 minutes walk around the corner for drinks, snacks etc.
The hotel itself - well the bar isnt there any more, they have shut it down. The pool was nice and clean and not overly busy. The rooms are basic. Ours was big, with a king-size bed, fridge, microwave, TV, hairdryer, iron and safe. It also had air-con but the unit was really loud. Breakfast is a buffet with the usual american stuff and was ample to start our day. Although the bar is closed there are vending machines selling soft drinks at a dollar a can or bottle.
The staff were pretty friendly and although we had to cut our stay short by 2 nights to return to Britain early they did not charge for the other 2 nights.
All in all - basic, average, not the Ritz, but if you just want a room, comfy bed, shower and proximity to downtown, as we did, then it will do for you.

good nashville hotel

my wife and i have stayed at this hotel twice in the last two years and found the rooms very clean and the reception staff very nice and helpfull. the pool was kept clean as was all of the hotel. the price was good for the location only a short cab ride to downtown and a short walk to the station inn and irish pub. i would recomend this hotel to anyone.
