Don't let the bedbugs bite you!
I recently stayed at this hotel in October (2004). What a dissappointment! I had a coupon for a disounted rate but they wouldn't give me that rate because they didn't have a room available for a single. So they charged me the same rate as a double. The room was in bad need of a paint job and had a musty smell. The walls and the inside of the door were very dirty. The two double beds had sagging mattresses. The carpet was filthy. You could see outside between the door frame and door. I didn't feel secure with the door lock so I jammed the wobbly chair from the desk against the door before I went to bed. There were two very large cob webs behind the door with bugs that the spider had captured inside. The curtains were hanging by 6 or 7 hooks which made it very difficult to open or close them. The bathroom was not the cleanest, but I did get two small bars of soap to wash with! No shampoo or even a hair dryer. Needless to say I was NOT happy in any way about my stay at the Drake. If it hadn't been so late and I wasn't soooo tired I wouldn't have stayed there! I definately would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!
