underground bluegrass drive from nashville

by dogyou

Will it be possible to go to bluegrass underground show at 2pm on October 2nd then be back at the grand ole opry for the 7 pm show. Is the drive possible in that time space. Any information would be of help.

How long is the bluegrass underground show? You need to plan on at least 1hr 45min drive time between the two locations. Plus, you'll need an extra 15 minutes to park & get into the Opry. So, absolute latest you can leave the bluegrass underground show is 5pm if you want to make it to the Opry on time (barely). Also, call the Opry ahead of time and double check the location for your show just to make sure you end up at the right place.

High up on the buildings of the Tennessee State University, they have placed a weather camera so that you can get real-time information about the conditions in Nashville. Press the link above to access the camera.

Plantation

by gkitzmil

Belle Meade

Known as the “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations,” this 1853 Greek Revival mansion was world-renowned as a thoroughbred stud farm and nursery. Today, tours of the mansion, grounds and colossal Carriage House include guides lavishly dressed in period costume.

Melting Pot

by Krumlovgirl

I LOVE the Melting Pot. So wonderful...Yes, it's expensive, and yes you generally have to have reservations, but what a wonderful dining experience. You have to be into fondue though! (And it's not just about cheese!) I get the "Night on the Town" special, which is served for two. You start out with a choice of cheese fondue. I go with the sharp cheddar. From there they bring all kinds of vegetables (like carrots) and breads for you to dip them in. There's a burner right on the table and everything is prepared there. After the cheese, you are served salads. I try yo skip these because I don't want to fill up. Then you get the entree. They bring in flavored boiling water and a plate of raw meat and you get to cook it yourself. Lobster, tiger shrimp, portabello mushrooms, teryaki chicken, beef, filet mignon...everything under the sun. To end it all, you choose your chocolate (I got for the flaming turtle) and they bring out strawberries, bananas, pound cake, cheesecake, marshmellows, brownies...

Trust me, it's heaven!

Microbrew

by travelteacher about Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery

The restaurant is cool, and has windows so you can look at the brewing process. The food is ok, and when the restaurant or bar starts to get full, the service slows down, but the beer is worth it.

They also have their own parking lot! Beer:
I like the pilsner a lot; and although I am not usually a fan of dark beers, the porter and stout are pretty good!

All the Country Artists

by jelw

The muscians are an excellent reason to come to Nashville. Though there are many cultural activities other than country music. I however did not have a chance to explore anything outside of the music scene.
Alan Jackson would be reason enough to travel just about anywhere. (swoon)
