40 us dollars for 2 nights... and there were 3 of us sharing the price! my sister was a computer nerd and went to one of those online pricing sites and we got this place for two night really really cheap. i'm sure you can do the same with other hotels, but the location was pretty good. i only woke up a few times during the night to the sounds of fuel burning jet engines. it's really close to graceland and not too far from the center if you know how to drive and don't try to merge into a car in the other lane. oops. sorry about that.

TimeShare Resorts, & Private Lodging. I have special Needs as I have Allergies and need special environments. So, I check ahead of time and MUST always have no-smoking accomadations.I limit the cleaning from the staff while staying in Hotels because the cleaning fumes are a problem. The Lodging Industry Should be more Aware of these type of Things as well as those in the Public by not over-doing the Fragances in combinatin inclosed areas.

Holiday Inn!
by lmkluque about Holiday Inn Carlsbad!
Holiday Inn is part of the InterContinental Hotels Group which has 2555 locations in the U.S.A. The quality of each hotel varies from mid to high level and though many are generic chain type motels, a few are more interesting. Holiday Inn also has the Holiday Inn Express and the InterContinental Hotels Group has added other chains to it's resume. The point being, chain hotels may not be the most charming, but as a rule they are the most reliable for maintaining a basic standard of comfort and safety for a person traveling into an unknown area.
Many of these hotels/motels offer package deals with reduced rates and the priced of a room usually represents the value of the location as a tourist destination.
SMALL AND NICE HOTELS
by Hosell about Super 8-Accor Hotels, etc
Travelling in all the United States you'll find lots of very nice and small hotels, there are a few national hotel chains that I'll tell you below. They have a very nice prices I was surprised to see prices below $20 something very hard to find in Europe.
Normally they cost between $25 to $60 a really very nice price because lot of them are located in big cities ,but normally they are always just outisde of medium or small towns.I stayed also a weeked in a small hotel just outside of Chicago for $65 a very good price. They are nice, cheap, clean and comfortables. These are some american hotel chains:
Accor Hotels
Best Value Inn
Best Western
Club Med
Days Inn
Comfort Inn
Ramada
Super 8
Motel 6 and lots more!.
Also in the U.S you can find lot of nice" Bed & Breakfast "and very good "Campgrounds " with very nice prices also.
this is a picture taken in one of these small hotels around St. Louis.

"Accomodation"
We have had generally a good service and a clean room for a fair price in motel chains : MOTEL 6 and ECONOLODGE.
We like to park the automobile at the door of the room in order to unload and to pack quickly.
Nethertheless, this type of accomodation is generally far from the city center.
"Prices"
For three, with or without complimentary breakfast
55/60 US$ for a motel in periphery
100 US$ for a hotel in town
Some cities are expensive : Boston (100 US$ for a Motel 6 in suburbs), New York, Philadelphia (159 US$ for a hotel in the center)
B&B : 130 US$ but it can be higher according to the comfort, the location and the historical caracteristic of the mansion.
On the picture : our appartment in Seabolay Resort at Fort Lauderdale : 60$ tax include in November.
"A kitchen in the room"
We like to have a kitchen in the room. Not in each hotel but at least from time to time especially from the middle of our travel, when we become fed up with the food from Denny's.
It is also the way to get a nice breackfast just whan we wake up.
"Reductions"
Some chain hotels make a reduction :
- for senior citizen (> 50, 55 or 60)
- for children (less 19)
- for coupons (to get in the nearest visitor center)
"Parking"
Generally, the parking is free excepted in the large cities.
The common price for a car is 10/11 US$ per day. In Canada, we have observed the same figure but in CND $.
The highest price we met is a valet parking in New York : 35 US$/day + gratuity with a very poor service.
Be aware :
1/ when the price is per day, we have to pay an entire day each time we go away with our vehicle.
2/ a valet parking can loose your key. It occured to us in Miami.
3/ a free valet parking is not free : think to the gratuity.
"A pool"
My wife likes the pools. So I choose hotels with pools as far as it is possible. After a long walk in the town it is pleasant to dive in the water.
"A balcony facing the sea"
You can't imagine the time spent on Internet to find a hotel with a balcony overlooking the beach and the sea.
My wife is so fond of sea shore .

Do what I did when I went their last year...bid on a hotel using Priceline. I stayed at a very nice Sheraton with great amenities for about $40 a day. It wasn't in the downtown area, but it was easily accessible by car. Nashville struck me as being relatively safe.
If interested you'd have to go to biddingfortravel.com first and learn what hotels are available and how to bid.

Try the Vanderbilt area just west of down town. The Courtyard Marriott is very good. And if you like BBQ try Jacks on Broadway BBQ restaurant Down town on Broadway street. It is awsome.

Nashville hotels
by chipper99
Hi. My wife and I are planning a trip to Memphis and Nashville for about 8/9 days next March. Can anyone recommend good, reasonably priced, safe and clean hotels in Nashville. We are hoping to stay for about 3/4 nights after taking the Greyhound from Memphis. Somewhere that is quite central to tourist attractions etc. All advice welcome.
Many thanks, Chipper.

Go to nashvillecvb.com (Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau). They will have discount coupons and also can get you discount rates for hotels (the CVB rates were better than AAA rates). They're also real helpful in helping plan itenerary & where to stay.

John,
Did you want a hotel or a youth hostel? For a hotel I would check out Days Inn. The one in Lincoln Park is close to everything and across from the park. A double room is about $96 a night (they run speacials). Check out the website at http://www.lpndaysinn.com/rates.html

Hi there,
I would book a room through www.priceline.com. You can probably stay at a very nice place for less than $100. Start by only choosing one neighborhood (North Michigan Avenue is best to start), then you can add more neighborhoods if you can't get the price you like. After North Michigan, try Lincoln Park and South Michigan Avenue. You can also choose the hotel quality level. I use Priceline all the time and have literally saved hundreds of dollars. I just stayed in Manhattan for $80/night at the Sheraton with Priceline. And I swear I don't work for them--it's just the best place to find quality hotels on a budget. Good luck!
