are you looking for a resident hotel, like a larger hotel room w/kitchenette. Do you want it in the middle of the city, or is 5/10 minutes out of the center of town okay? Trying to get an idea so I can help you out.

Travel Tips for Nashville

Tennessee River and a mountain man

by Ewingjr98

I always thought the Tennessee River flowed through Nashville. I was wrong.

The Tennessee River actually flows south to north about 75 miles west of Nashville. The Cumberland River and the Tennessee River both flow into the Ohio River.

The Tennessee River runs 652 miles from Knoxville in eastern Tennessee, across northern Alabama, back through central Tennessee and into Kentucky before emptying into the Ohio River. From the 1930s to the 1960s the TVA built a series of nine dams along the length of the Tennessee River, as well as numerous dams on its tributaries, in order to generate electricity and create a transportation corridor through some impoverished areas of Appalachia. Today the TVA, a federally owned corporation, is America's largest public power company.

Boot Scoot the night away

by horsinround2 about Wildhorse Saloon

Three stories of fun! Eat dinner, learn a new dance, listen to live music, play some pool on the 3rd floor, and pick up souveniers on your way out the door at the gift shop. Bring the kids too - there is no age limit as long as they're accompanied by an adult. Because of the kids, things stay fairly g-rated here. Yes, they do serve alcohol.

Yes, the Wildhorse Saloon did experience significant flooding the first weekend of May 2010 and is currently closed for clean-up. They will be back open just in time for CMA Fest (aka: FanFair) the second week of June 2010. Pretty much anything goes. Most people will be wearing jeans and cowboy boots. But I've seen shorts & tennis shoes too.

Ethiopian

by ocicat about The Horn of Africa

(I've just discovered that the restaurant is under new ownership and I haven't checked it out again. Hopefully, it will be just as good as before.)

The restaurant is a gathering place for expats of Ethiopia and Sudan. Portions are hearty and delicious. One seating section offers the traditional Ethiopian table... large upright baskets. Lega Tibs -- beef tips, tomato and peppers in a special sauce. Mild. Duro Wat - chicken in a hot red sauce.

The injera is an experience of it's own. It's wonderful!!

Sitar

Wow, this place is great. It's tiny and there's sometimes a bit of a wait, but the food is wonderful. You get plenty of it, too, and every time I have eaten there the service has been top-notch. They always seem to be glad that we are there. Remember that the vindaloo is hot. And I mean HOT. I always go for the lowest denominator, when in most Indian restaurants I can handle the medium. I especially like the samosas, spicy and evenly techtured.

THE "Temple" of country music.

by gkitzmil

Ryman Auditoreum is the heart and soul of country music. Originally built as a church it housed The Grand Ole Opry fromn 1943 until 1974. The Ryman is a National Historic Landmark with roots in country music where one can see all types of musical performances as well as daily self-guided tours.
