BBQ
by emilienoelle about Jack's Bar-B-Que
This place is awesome, a real treat for me because you just can't get good barbeque north of the Mason-Dixon. Jack's is a little place, not too many tables, where you order and pay at the counter. Upon ordering they open up a huge smoker behind the counter and take out what you want and cut it to order. Their sides are great, too. They have everything from the obligatory mac n' cheese to cole slaw and my favorite, barbeque beans. Mmmm. Their barbecue sauces are great, too. I had the pulled pork sandwich, but I can't imagine anything they have being bad.
Amazing variety of pizza
by Bunsch about The Mellow Mushroom
Billing itself as "an amusement park of pizza", the Mellow Mushroom we visited on 21st Street did indeed offer an astonishing choice of pies and a long, long list of cold beers to drink along with them. It was a pretty eclectic place, with music paraphrenalia and a mural...well, it was funky and fun, and what's not to like about that? We tried three different, exotic pies, but we also had about six different and equally exotic beers, and I cannot for the life of me remember the names of any of them! In short, a fine dining experience!
Explore Downtown and "The District"
by noidiotsplease
Downtown’s old warehouse district on the riverfront has now become a major dining and entertainment hub anchored by a plethora of destination restaurants (including Hard Rock Café) and lively night clubs. Here, you'll also find numerous souvenir shops catering to everything that is synonymous with Nashville. Directly across the river is Adelphia Coliseum, home field of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. "The District" is walkable from many Downtown hotels. Downtown as a whole appears to be relatively safe based on the number of tourists seen walking around.
Paint + Canvas - Express Yourself Artistically!
by TravellerMel
I LOVE these painting classes! This one is in Nashville, off Nolensville Road. The instructors are very friendly and the classes are fun. No artistic experience or talent is required - after only two hours, you will walk out with your very own masterpiece, and have a wonderful time while creating it. The instructors will walk you through every step of recreating that nights image. Check out the calendar at the link below and pick the picture you like best. Perfect for a "Girls Night Out", or for a date night. Heck, I've gone by myself, and by the end of the night I was laughing along with those people seated around me. Lots of fun - give it a try!
