fairfield nashville
my wife and I are travelling from scotland in december and we are booked into fairfield nashville can anyone tell me if it is a nice safe area,what the weather will be like and best way to travel to memphis

You might just find yourself right at home (so to speak). It will be cold, could rain or snow. Figure the temps could be below freezing.

Most of Nashville is safe. I'm not sure where Fairfield is, but I don't know of any hotels that are in bad neighborhoods.
The weather is not likely to be below freezing in December; it usually doesn't even get cold enough to snow until Januray or February. It will probably be around 40 deg. F most of the time, with the possibility of freezing temperatures, but probably not.
The only way that I know of to get to Memphis is to rent a car and take I-40 West. I suppose you could take a Greyhound bus, but I would advise against it.

There are actually a few Fairfield Hotels in Nashville. Are you staying the one on Music City Cir? If so, you'll be in a great area, right in the center of things. Looks like there is one out by the airport and a few others. If you know which one you're booked for, maybe we could help.
The weather will be pretty cold by then. Maybe snow, who knows!
You'd want to rent a car to Memphis (you'll probably want one in Nashville anyway) and take 1-40 West. You can't miss it. Its about a 3.5 hour drive.
