We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Green Valley Motel in Pigeon Forge. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Not new, but well-maintained. For the price, you can put up with some scrapes on the wall and light stains on the carpet. The water in the shower is reversed, so if you want hot water, you have to turn it toward "cold". But you can't beat the location - 3 lights to Dolly Parton Parkway to go to Dollywood, 1 light puts you out of Pigeon Forge toward Gatlinburg. On the trolley line and close to everything in Pigeon Forge.
The desk clerk/caretaker was very nice and helpful. Room had a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and large screen tv. At least 4 feet from the foot of the bed to the dresser, in case you needed a rollaway bed (or to store your kayaks, as we joked). Not luxurious, but clean, safe, and comfortable - we will stay here again!
You can find them through Expedia/Travelocity/Kayak, but if you book directly thru their website or call them, they do not charge a deposit to hold the room, and for us it was $5/night cheaper.
