Sightseeing in Pigeon Forge,Gatlinburg,and the Smokey Mountains Looking through the stores and shops in the evening after the temperature had cooled a little.There was live entertainment at some of the shops.During the day we drove to Cherokee,N.C. for the day and made frequent stops on the way back to do a little sight-seeing.Other days we hit the pools and shopped in the air conditioned stores.
My first trip to the Smokey Mountains and Pigeon Forge was in 1982 when we went to the World's Fair in Knoxville.We had a great trip Gatlinburg and decided when we went back we would go to Pigeon Forge.
Our first family vacation to Pigeon Forge was a disaster and I said I would never go back again.Our motel had raised the price from what we were originally expecting and we tried to drive and walk everywhere. Pigeon Forge was not too bad to find a parking place but Gatlinburg was impoosible.When we left we were really disappointed.
Several years later we decided to try it again and we were a little better prepared.We found a place to stay that we loved and decided that trips to Gatlinburg would be on the trolley.We had gotten maps and found our way around a lot easier.My wife and daughters got to know all the malls,outlet stores and all the shops and store in each shopping center.She lives to shop!!
I hit the pools and gamerooms and took the helicopter tours. So we had a great time
