Townsend, TN - Entrance to Great Smokey Mtn NP
"Cades Cove"
Townsend is at the entrance to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. It is eight miles to Cades Cove. Cades Cove is one of the most visited areas of the park. It is an 11 mile loop of road and which you can view wildlife, flora, and fauna.

"Abrams Falls"
From Hwy 321 it is an 11 mile one-way loop scenic drive. Along the way there are stops to see different attractions. One of my favorite is the hike to Abrams Falls. The falls are not spectacular in the way of Niagara Falls, but the hike is what is worth it. I was there in August (after the Bristol race) and there were not many people.
"Butterfly at Abrams Falls"
Wildlife comes in different sizes and shapes. I live in Alaska and do not get to see many different butterflies. I see plenty of moose and mosquitoes. When I get the chance to experience something else I am there for hours.
