A short 35 minute drive though the prairie northeast of Abilene to colorful Albany, TX, you will discover a gem of a museum, The Old Jail Art Center. This small, but very sophisticated, museum has an extensive permanent collection of well known artists and pre-Colombian and Chinese tomb figures, as well as touring exhibits that beat anything you will find anywhere in Texas west of Fort Worth. The OJAC is open Tues-Sun, 10-5 (2:00pm on Sunday) and admission is free.
