Spider Monkey at the Amarillo Zoo
Small snack for texan
Many of the places to see in Amarillo are closed on Mondays. The Amarillo Zoo is one of them. If you are planning to spend time in Amarillo suggest you come on Tuesday to start your visit. The zoo is a not large but it is free and is in Thompson Park. Thompson Park is on highway 287. During Summer months there is an amusement park and putt putt golf course there as well as the zoo.
Amarillo has always been one of my favorite cities... why? I'm not sure - maybe it was because when I was a kid, a trip to Amarillo always meant the exciting world of seeing grandparents and visiting the hustling and bustling shopping malls with... the coolest toy stores.
Oh yes... that's what did it for me! But even as I grew up, I enjoyed being in Amarillo more than any other city I know. The people are friendly, the skies are crystal clear at night, and they even have running water and electricity! :-)

A: "There's a small nightclub area Downtown along Taylor Street. Maybe 4 to 5 clubs open on the weekends. That's about it for the city though."
