Weatherford ( Pop. ca. 10.500 ) is located in Western Oklahoma on interstate 40. The city is located in Custer County. It is approximately a one hour from Oklahoma City. Weatherford was founded in 1893, and was named for US Marshall William J. Weatherford. Weatherford is also the home of Gen. Thomas P. Stafford, commander of the 1975 Apollo Soyuz Mission ( see picture ).
Amarillo is known for its old fashion road-side attractions, one of the more notable is The Big Texan, home of the Free 72oz Steak. (That is, it's free if you can eat it in under an hour!)
Yet another well known attraction. There's plenty of good tips out there for this and The Big Texan, and since I don't have anything more substantive to add, I'm just throwing additional pictures up for posterity in my travelogues.

A: "There's a small nightclub area Downtown along Taylor Street. Maybe 4 to 5 clubs open on the weekends. That's about it for the city though."
