Arlington is actually a decent place to stay when you're working / doing business in the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex.
It's close enough to enjoy all Dallas has to offer, but less traffic and very close / convenient to DFW airport for quick "in&outs."
Again, I'm no Arlington expert, just an occasional business-tourist. But there are some pleasant things to do and see. Dinners at Cacharel on Lamar;
Relaxing walks down at River Legacy Park;
Kickass barbecue at Bodacious;
Baseball games at the ballpark @ Arlington;
Looking out my hotel room and watching all the lit-up rides at Six Flags;
Lightly toasted, late night 90deg F swims in the pool.
