See the sites..

See as much of this beautiful city as possible. Unfortunately time was limited when I was here, so I didn't get to see all I wanted to see. My fondest memory of Austin, is definitely my arrival. I came off the aircraft, and was greeted by my friend with a gorgeous single yellow 'Rose' ;-) Don't you just love tradition?
Walking around the city, just taking in the sites, and relax in the beautiful park, which I can't remember the name of.
Alamo Draft House

Take a date and enjoy a frosty libation, or maybe some nachos at the Alamo Draft House.
Yes... you can enjoy a beer with your favorite movie here in Austin... its a great location, located deep in the warehouse district.
You have a table in front of your cinema seat, for you to set your dinner and drink... and the crowd makes this a fun place.
The festivals and events of Austin
by gordonilla
It seems as if the city of Austin plays host to many musical and arts festivals. It is a hive of culture and eclectic fun.
During my visit there was a music festival, the Red Bull Flugtag and a chalk sketching competition. Do not forget the annual Pun Off in memory of O Henry!
LBJ Ranch
by Djinn76
This is the other part of the National Park, located 14 miles from Johnson City in the direction of Fredericksburg. This is in fact the ranch where the president retreated after his official career. Entrance is free but to see the ranch itself, there is an organised bus tour (3$). Due to timing issue, I’ve missed it…
However it is not the only thing to do there, you can walk along the Paseo Del Arroyo Nature trail to discover the wildlife. Different signs explain part of it.
You can also see the Sauer-Beckman Farm where costumed interpreters carry out the day-to-day activity of a turn-of-the-century Texas-German farm family. You can freely walk trough the different building of the farm, a real dive in the past!
Nearby you can also see some of these really impressive longhorn cows.
Finally some “historical buildings” are also visible: The Junction School where Lyndon learned to read, his reconstructed birthplace, the Johnson family cemetery and the Grandparent’s farmhouse.
Visit 6th Street

If you tire of one genre of music, just walk next door or one block over to be in a totally different scene.
Country music, top 20, blues, jazz, alternative, live, dance, goth, 80's, hip hop, trance...it's all right there, you just have to find it. I would list some of the clubs, but many change names/owners so frequently it's hard to keep up.
After you leave for the night...there's even pizza by the slice 'til 4am on the street. Most clubs have No Jeans and No T-shirt policies. They want shirts with collars. Not as upscale as requiring a tie or jacket....but don't try going to any of these with holey jeans and dirty sneakers. They won't let you in.
