You would have to fly in to either Houston or Dallas/Ft. Worth first. From there you could fly to Austin.

I'm not sure what airline would be the cheapest.

Good luck

Andy, I agree with the last poster. Flights to Houston are most definitely the cheapest. From there, you are can catch a flight to Austin for $60 to $80. Or, you can get on the Amtrak Train for about the same. Good Luck.

Yeah, you probably won't be able to find a flight that comes directly to Austin. I usually buy my plane tickets online, so I guess just check around for prices. Austin is a great city. I moved here a few months ago and I never want to leave. I hope you enjoy your trip!

The Motor Mile

by kd_baby

This the nickname for an area in South Austin with about a dozen car dealerships next to each other along frontage road of I-35. The area is from Ben White Blvd 71 and I-35 to Stassney Ln and I-35.

There's something about seeing just rows and rows of cars waiting to be sold that's really cool.

Zilker Park

by ATXtraveler

In 1918, A.J. Zilker deeded the 35 acres surrounding Barton Springs to the City of Austin. In 1932, Zilker agreed to give the military school established during the First World War an additional 330 acres, joining the 35 acres on the north side of the original tract if the city would buy the acreage from the school for $200,000. This action was approved in a bond election and despite the ecomomic depression of the 1930's. the land was developed into Zilker Park.

The National Park Service assisted with the planning of Zilker Park and construction was performed by many groups, including workers from Reconstruction Finance Corporation's relief program, the Citizens Works Administration, and the Civilian Conservation Corps.

by KenMore

Mt. Bonnell is one of Austin's oldest tourist attractions being documented as far back as 1850. It is the highest point within Austin City Limits at 785 feet. A wonderful place to picnic in the sun, Mt. Bonnell contains views of Town Lake and the Pennybacker Bridge as well as wonderful vistas of downtown. The area is a short hike from the road and there is no entrance fee. Mt Bonnell is located in northwest Austin just off FM 2222.

Locals Bar

by klasher about One 2 One

One 2 One bar is a great neighborhood bar with the best deck in downtown Austin. The bar itself is cozy with no cover ever! Greg and Destiny, the owners provide free Texas Hold em touraments and eclectic live bands. Or, head upstairs to the newly built spacious deck with a great view over 5th and Brazos. Casual
