More about Lakeway Resort and Spa Austin
An amazing experience

The Lakeway Resort and Spa has truly evolved since the days it was called the Lakeway Inn.
My wife and I stayed there in the summer of 2005, when it was called the Lakeway Inn, and overall, the experience was slightly below average. The service was decent, but the rooms had the appearance of a highway motel.
Since then, The Lakeway Resort and Spa has undergone an amazing transformation. The rooms have been completely renovated. They now all have a modern, contemporary feel with LCD TVs and beds that put the Westin hotels to shame. The outside of the hotel looks completely new, and they have added a brand new section with an amazing 3 level pool (with a waterslide), spa/massage facilities, and a very modern gym.
Overall, the service was excellent and the staff was very courteous. They have put a lot of effort in transforming the hotel into what it is today, and I highly recommend it for those who are looking for a romantic getaway or just need a few days on the lake to relax. 5 out of 5!!
Great Hotel!

I recently stayed at the Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin while doing a site visit for a meeting we're having in 2007. Check in was effecient and my room was located close. The hotel has a rustic "lodge" feel to it. The food was pretty good and the views were excellent. There is a small walk to the restaurant but felt so good in the chilly evening weather. The rooms are very comfortable without being cluttered. I enjoyed my stay there and would stay again.
Great experience for the family!

We stayed at the Lakeway Resort and Spa with our two boys ages 6 and 8 for 4 days. All had a great time. Great room with a blacony and view of Lake Travis. Great restaurant that included a kids menu that allowed everyone in our party to enjoy themself. Pool was great for kids. Location allowed for easy trips into teh City of Austin for other activities! We'll go back.
Nice, not luxurious. Geared toward families, not couples

If you want to take a nice break with the kids, then go to the Lakeway Resort and enjoy the 3 kids pools and kids camps. If you are looking for a romantic get-a-way, this is not the place. For the "luxury" price tag, I would recommend other highly rated spa/resorts in Austin. The hotel has been renovated and it is in a beautiful setting right on Lake Travis. The lobby is beautiful and the views are great from the hotel bars. The rooms have been nicely done. The spa is brand new, nice and cozy. Not first class but very nice. There is construction going on throughout the property. The service in the restaurants is really slow. The breakfast buffet is the way to go, as you don't have to wait for your food. There is a nice selection of breakfast foods and it is worth the $15.00. The hotel staff is friendly.
Very Nice Hotel, Wonderful Service

Spent the weekend at Lakeway Inn in order to attend a friend's wedding. The recently remodeled rooms are very nice and most have a wonderful sunset view of Lake Travis. The service was exceptional, just what one would expect, but don't always experience, at a luxury resort. The area around the boat ramp and dock was still under re-construction when we were there, but the hotel transported guests to and from the dock in their courtesey vans when needed. The food at the Travis restaurant was expensive but good. Overall, a very pleasant and recommended weekend getaway.
Loved the Pool!

After spending 2 hours to go 15 miles in Friday 4pm traffic arriving at this lovely hotel was a welcomed relief. Definitely recommend driving in early so you can to beat the traffic on 620 and Bee Cave road. Our room on the 4th floor had a big balcony that faced Lake Travis. We even had deer that we watched wonder by in the morning. Room was furnished with a flat screen TV, beautiful comfy beds with extra pillows, decorated in earth-tone colors which made it pleasant and relaxing. The only thing missing was a refrigerator to stash extra beverages we had brought with us. There is still a good bit of construction going on at this hotel. The restaurant is a short walk from the main hotel or they will drive you in a golf cart. The pools are by the restaurant as well. We spent most of our time at the pool which did have a bit of construction going on as well. They are in the process of finishing a swim up bar among other changes. Other than the noise from the construction the pool area is a wonderful place to unwind. There were multiple infinity pools, water spouts, 2 jacuzzis, a water slide that did not have water flowing from it but didn’t seem to stop some of the kids from playing on. Water temps were chilly as well. Lots of chairs, tables, chaises, 3 private cabanas. On Saturday afternoon they had a chef outside cooking snack food on a grill, frozen drinks and beer. There is not much night life at this hotel. Most of the times we went by the lobby bar or the restaurant bar there were not many people around. They also advertise Starbucks coffee, but that’s all they have, not the full Starbucks menu. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this hotel and look forward to returning.
Food and Service is HORRIBLE!!

We came to Lakeway right after our wedding for a relaxing time before we went on our honeymoon. When we checked in, the rooms were fantastic so we were very optimistic with our stay. The next morning we ordered room service, which took 1 1/2 hours to get to us (they had the wrong room), food was cold and looked awful. Pool is beautiful but still under construction. When asking staff where there was to go around the hotel, they were extremely unhelpful and rude. Went to their "restaurant" for dinner, which was a rustic cabin with little to no atmosphere and did not match their modern hotel feel. Food was also awful there and it took 15 mintues to get a drink! Great place to spend the night and go swimming, but bring your own food, McDonald's is better than this.
Pleasantly nice. Will definitely return.

Just returned from the newly remodeled Lakeway Spa. The property is nice (not as nice at Barton Creek). The rooms were very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Furnishing were modest. We ate 'banquet' food provided by the resort which was really good - seared tuna, pork loin, swordfish with curry. Our only disappointment was one breakfast meal did not meet our satisfaction. Drinks modestly priced. The pool is GREAT and overlooks the lake. There is plenty of poolside activitiy for the kiddos. We will definitely return.
