SXSW, which stands for "South by Southwest", is Austin's huge media festival and conference. The primary reason most people attend this event is for the local and/or independent films (yet to be released to the general public).Since Austin has a huge arts and media culture, this event is the time for the local filmmakers to "show their stuff".
