Hey Austinites
I haven't been to sixth street for halloween yet, but I hear it's a lot of fun. Can anyone here tell me from experience? Also, I'm not old enough to go in to bars, so is there anything else to do besides people-watch?
Are there any other halloween things going on besides haunted houses and little kid things? I cant really find anything online, thanks!

There is really so much people watching on 6th street on Halloween that you won't need to do anything else. There are just tons of people everywhere in strange, weird and wild costumes...it's all the entertainment you will need. it's a lot of fun...just sit on the curb and watch the weirdos in all their glory.

Hood's Texas Brigade Monument

This imposing monument to Hood's Texas Brigade was erected 1910 by surviving comrades and friends.
On the gray granite shaft are hand-carved quotes Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America, General Robert E. Lee, and others. The monument is topped by the bronze figure of a Confederate soldier, by sculptor Pompeo Coppini.
The monument stands as a memorial to the members of John B. Hood's Texas Brigade Army of Northern Virginia. Some 4,000 soldiers in the division died in defense of the South during the War Between the States. Names of the principle battles in which they were engaged are inscribed on the monument's base.

Austin Rugby - National Finalists

As a member of the rugby community for the past 10 years, as a player, coach, and referee, I can definitely recognize a team with the desire to win. The Austin Rugby Club is a team that truly desires to be a winner, and it shows. They placed 2nd in the Nationals this year, with a wonderful trip to the top.
As a fan, I would recommend that you check the schedule on the website and come out to join the boys anytime you are in town! Bring your boots... we have everything else!

Le Fun and Einstein Arcades are a couple of places to get rid of time and money while on "the drag," a street also known as "Guadalupe," across from the University of Texas. Most of the games are pretty cheap, sometimes they have quarter or fifty cent specials. In both of them, you can sometimes find strange games (like one about babies fighting eachother to the death) or active ones like this boxing one. It even has a calorie counter!

The more traditional chinese folks will tell you that dressing in morbid colors does no good for your luck. The exterior of this store IS black. I was like, "What? that's so sick." I meant that it's sick in a cool way. It's a gigantic grand piano (see photo). Pretty unique, don't you think?
This is the only Fry's in Austin. This store is huge! There are about 13 different models of webcams, plenty of computer and console games, computer parts, nice looking laptop bags and backpacks, laptop skins, office furniture, CDs and so on.
If you're use to going to Best Buy to look at computer stuff, you'll be glad to know that Fry's carry a lot more items.
You'll notice the big yellow tag on almost every item that says "LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEED". I suggest you do your research online and about before you take that line seriously.
There is a cafe inside which is cool if you wanna hang out while waiting for your friends or spouse to be done with their 3 hour electronic shopping. There's a Half Price Bookstore at the other end of the block too if you feel waiting at the cafe for 3 hours gets boring.

many types of food and drink places, many include live bands everyday of the week, but Friday/Saturday are the best times, after 20:00 till 3 am depends on your mood, but people usually never dress formally
