August House B&B: Popourri will knock you down!
I didn't care for this place. It was clean, and the bed was very comfy, but if the sheer number of baubles, do-dads, and other crap hanging on the walls or lying around all over the place doesn't addle you, the overwhelming popourri smell will! I tried to open the windows, but they will not open. I tried to turn on the A/C fan, but the thermostat had a plastic box around it preventing me from adjusting the A/C at all. I wound up unplugging the bubbling popourri device and take it outside to have any hope of being able to sleep in the room. Good thing we had a few hours to kill at the Dodging Duck Brewhouse in the interim! The smell seemed to have had lessened when we returned, but still the smell was too much. I would not stay at this place again.
Unique Quality: Overwhelming popourri vapors! Windows won't open. A/C is behind a locked box and can't be adjusted!

A Long Stay: A Great Place to Stay
What a great find for our family! The Long sisters have a gem on the outskirts of Boerne (pronounced "Birnee") -- just northwest of San Antonio.
We stayed for a week, doing day trips to San Antonio, Wimberley, New Braunfels, Fredricksburg, Comfort, San Marcos, and Austin. Boerne itself has a great selection of restaurants and shops.
This is a wonderful place to go if you don't want a chain hotel -- or don't want the "closeness" of a typical B&B. There's space to roam. Feels unique.
Unique Quality: In addition to the guest house there are comfortable guest rooms that are actually converted horse stables!
Huge old oak trees add to the charm of the beautiful grounds.
The resident goats, pony, dogs, and cats plus swing and pool add interest for the kids.
Great-tasting Texas-size hot breakfasts are included.

The Paniolo Ranch: Hot tub frolics
Came to the Paniolo ranch in Boerne Texas as i had never been in a Hot tub before
well it gets a little cold and wet in Oldham to do this.
We stayed in the Pineapple House on the ranch and i was bowled over how beautiful this ranch was, it really is something else.
We only stayed the night had a great meal in Boerne then spent the evening in the hot tub drinking Champagne under the stars which was an absolute dream come true and something that will leave me with memories until the day i die.
If you get the chance i absolutely recommend it.
fantastic!
Unique Quality: The accommodation was superb and after we had booked in we was left alone. the hot tub was extremely private (well i hope it was)
The breakfast was excellent and we ate it on the porch outside overlooking the lake that they have on the ranch. absolutely magnificent - well worth the trip.
Friendly cats too!

Boerne Sunday House Inn: Texas Rustic Furnishings
The rooms are clean and furnished in a "Texas rustic" style. Even though it looks different, this was a comfortable queen-size bed. Just don't expect amenities like shampoo, iron, and ironing board to be in the room.

Boerne Sunday House Inn: Pick Your Rocking Chair
It is very quiet at the Boerne Sunday House Inn. They even have rocking chairs and picnic tables under the large live oak trees.
Unique Quality: The restaurant in the associated Sunday House is excellent and good value.

Boerne Sunday House Inn: Scenic Old-Fashioned Motel
The Boerne Sunday House Inn is named after the Schwarz Sunday house, which is located on the grounds but is now part of the Mayan shop. The Inn itself is a combination of a replica of a large German Sunday house and a small motel. The restaurant and office are in the large Sunday house.
The rooms are in a motel-like separate building (see the next tip). They are old-fashioned but clean and quiet. I was staying for three days and they charged me in advance; however, the rate was good for the area at $59.95. The location is good...about 1/4 mile from Cibolo Creek and downtown, across the street from St. Peter's Church and Veterans' Park, and only a couple of blocks from Kronkosky Tower. It claims to be a B&B but breakfast is only included on Saturday and Sunday.
Unique Quality: It was furnished with rustic furniture and was also old-fashioned in that it had no shampoo, iron, or ironing board in the room.
