Unless there is something going on in the Main Plaza, the Boerne Hauptstrasse is really quiet in the evening. Most of the shops open at 9 AM and close at 5 PM, but a few stay open until 6 PM. Mague's Cafe opens for breakfast at 7 AM. The Bear Moon Bakery and Cafe opens at 6 AM but the breakfast buffet does not start until 8 AM. You may as well sleep late.
This is the stream at one end of the cave. The cave extends much further but you must go under water to continue. After a rain, this stream can get quite large. The high water mark was 7-8 feet above this level. There is a rare salamander that lives in the stream but we did not see one.
Main Street in Boerne (the Hauptstrasse) is noted for its antique stores, art galleries and specialty shops. See also my Boerne travelogue on historic buildings, since most of them house businesses now. Another internet reference is www.mainstreetboerne.com/shopping.htm.
I would advise washing before using...the rack was under a tree near Cibolo Creek.
