I usually don't write too much about chain motels here on VT, but I found this Holiday Inn to be very comfortable, convenient, friendly and affordable.

It's also located right on the water. You can ask for a waterfront room for no additional charge, if the rooms are empty. All this, within walking distance of downtown.

My husband and I stayed over Christmas. We got a great deal ($83) on a King room and were upgraded to a suite when we checked in without asking. The staff was very friendly.
