Sixth Street Museum....JFK
by Kodi01
On November 22, 1963, John F. Kennedy was assasinated in Dallas, TX.
The Sixth Street 9,000 square-foot display is located in the former Texas School Book Depository has historical photographs, original interviews, artifacts, 40 minute documentary film. Included in the tour is the 'snipers perch' the corner window from which Lee Harvey Oswald is alleged to have fired upon the presidential motorcade. I live in Dallas and work with Texans who were standing on Dealy plaza and witnessed the event.
I also have seen the convertible that he and Jacqeline Kennedy were in when he was shot.

Use proper Texas grammar Most people think that the Texas word Y'all is plural (short for 'you all') and use it that way. This is incorrect. The correct way to indicate a group of people you are speaking to is with the phrase All Y'all, which may seem redundant but is, in fact, quite proper usage.

Lake Lavon
by btex
To tell the truth..Lake Lavon isn't that great. It's another Texas man-made lake that isn't very inspirational. The water isn't very clear - there are old, dead trees sticking up out of the water...and I wouldn't eat any fish from that lake...even though the fishing is supposed to be pretty good. But, it is close to Dallas...there is a hiking/horse riding trail...boats will float on the water...there are a few parks that can be used for picnics or whatever. Basically, if you want to get away from Dallas urban-life, Lake Lavon is one of the few really close locations to do that. It's north east of Dallas - near the town of Wylie - about a 30-40 minute drive.
