Eh, title got cut off. And I thought I would be asking the person privately.
by Jevus2006
Anyways, I'm looking for a Highland Park park filled with teddy bears. If anyone knows where it is, please reply.

See http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/Texas/Dallas-876982/Off_the_Beaten_Path-Dallas-Parks_Lakes-BR-2.html for a VT reference to this park.
The city's website ( http://www.hptx.org/Default.asp?WCI=CityDocument&DOCUMENT=cities/HighlandParkTX/docs/UploadedPages/parks.htm ) reports that Lakeside Park is at (appropriately enough) 4601 Lakeside Drive. Use maps.yahoo.com (or mapping software of your choice) to see where this is...
The nearest big intersection (there are several) might be Preston and Armstrong, or Preston and Fitzhugh/Wycliff (I'm not sure which one it is there)...

The address that Bill gives is spot on. On mapquest the star for this address shows up almost exactly where you cross the bridge to get to the teddy bears.

Bear in mind that the whole park is not filled with teddy bears, just a very small little playground area across the bridge over the lake, on the west side, from where the bulk of the park is. However, it is a beautiful park, I like to go there to photograph, especially in the spring when the trees are flowering. It is surrounded by some beautiful homes, especially on the west side of the lake.
And if you do like I did the first time I went over there and get lost, you may get to pass by what is probably the nicest looking jail / police station in the world about 2 blocks east. :) Seriously, when I drove past I said to myself, "That is a beautiful building, I wonder what that is?" I was stunned when I saw the sign for the police department.
Travel Tips for Dallas
Dallas Tip

Can you tell I love my Z? Currently everything is stock however there are big plans in the future...The Z will be smokin! It has a straight 6 and oh! The wheels are the coolest! They are 15 x7's 0 offset Panasports. (I'm pretty sure that is correct..) Anyways, Dallas has a lot of great trade shows at the Convention Center or Market Hall. This here is the annual car show...Amongst the latest and greatest models there is also a huge participation from car clubs all over the country. I'd say my most favorite would be the Corvette's. A 1972 with T-tops...nice leather interior..V8...hmmmm WATCH OUT!
Dallas in December - Packing List
by ATXtraveler
Always travel small. If you are coming by plane, just bring a carry on bag. No one will notice if you wear the same pair of jeans on a couple days of the trip! December in Dallas is truly a mixed bag. So far in 2007, we have had a day in the 80's several in the 30's, and plenty in between. The normal average is in the high 50's, so bring a couple things for the warmer side of that and for the colder side of that. Available for purchase very easily around the greater DFW area.
Cross Lakeside Bridge to get to the teddy bears!
by biljah
You have to cross this bridge to get to the teddy bears, but the best part of the park trip may be the journey across the bride since there is a lake on one sida and a water fall on the other side. On your venture across the foot bridge you can also see cute little ducks swimming across the lake.
The Galleria
by keeweechic
Galleria Mall is a huge shopping centre full of some very nice stores - all the big names are here. A very dangerous place to go with credit cards.
There is an ice rink on the lower ground floor and a five screen Cinema as well.

There's a pub (don't remember the name of it) just off of Webb's Chapel Road.
Nice people, variety of people and the music. Live entertainment, dancing, drinking, having fun. Casual, bluejeans are fine, ya wanna dress up, go for it.
