The town is small, easy to get around, caters to visitors and RVers, has very little crime, and is a off the beaten path gem in Texas. I spent three days camped (in my Van) on the lake. There are not many trees ( all of those are in someones yard), but plenty of brush and cactus for the deer to browse. The country is known for its deer population. A favorite hunting area for other species also. The deer around the Air Force Base campground were so tame that they would just look at you questioningly, when you walked by. Like "Are you going to walk on my grass or what??"
