How to get to Juarez

I am sending my Mom to El Paso for a vacation, and then on to Acapulco. I have her flying into El Paso and staying there, but flying out of Juarez (it was so much cheaper to Acapulco). What is the easiest/cheapest/safest way to tell my Mom to get from a hotel in El Paso to the Juarez airport?

If your mom is willing .... take the trolley across the border, then get a cab from Juarez to the airport....... if you want the trolly info, it's in the transportation tips on my El Paso page ....... and MAYBE on my Juarez page.
I haven't done this in Juarez, but did it in Tijuana for many trips, worked out well as it was MUCH cheaper :)

why send your mom to hell for a vacation?????
I used to live there, while it will always be home,skip ELP and just move on to acapulco, it is so wonderful down there. There is nothing to see or do in ELP, skip juarez, gives you the wrong impression of Mexico.

The shopping district near the Mexican broader is a must. You can find any type of clothing which is suitable for El Paso (no winter clothing here!) - all at prices which is a little unbelieveable. I'm not saying that the stuff is 'real' name-brand designer ware; however, the prices are very good.
I saw a pair of men's walking shorts for $2.99 - at that price, it's cheaper to throw them out than to wash them.
Even if you don't buy anything, people watching is also do-able. You can see the US/Mexican border and the amount of people moving through it - its a sight I won't soon forget. The salsa. If you think all salsa is the same, come down to El Paso and check it out!
Mexican Influence

Since the US/Mexico border is at the southern edge of El Paso, there is a lot of Spanish/Mexican influence. This affects everything from street signs to food to language, etc.
Also, I just want to say the latin women in the El Paso are extremely attractive. God bless them (and bring more)!
White Sands Missile Range (65 miles)

White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), formerly known as the White Sands Proving Grounds, is located in southern New Mexico covers the area of approximately the same as that of the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island put together. It's the largest military installation in the United States - missile and atomic testing area. The only way to get to the range visitors entrance on U.S. Highway 70, about 65 miles (105 km) north of El Paso is by car, own or hired.
On July 16, 1945 the world's first test of an atomic weapon was conducted at what is now called Trinity site, within what was then the boundaries of the range. NASA has used a landing area on White Sands Missile Range known as "White Sands Space Harbor." Many space shuttles landed there. The US Army Air Defense Center is located in nearby Fort Bliss, Texas.
I was driving U.S. Highway 70 towards White Sands National Monument soon after beginning of Iraq War. Although I was 100% sure that the important US military installation was closed for any visitors, I turned my car towards the entrance gate. To my total surprise I was allowed to enter the WSMR! I had to leave car outside the base and after check-up at the gate I was allowed to walk to visit White Sands Missile Range Museum: an outdoor exhibition of old and still used rockets and missiles (Pershing, Patriot) and indoor exhibition of smaller missiles.
On that day (Easter Monday) I was lucky to see numerous vintage sport cars which stopped in front of the museum. There was a race of these cool cars but I wasn't allowed to go deeper into the military base to watch it.

This is the featured restaurant at the Sunland Park Mall. The restaurant is very well lit with a completely glass store front and a checkered black & white roof design. The restaurant is fairly quiet and stays fairly busy. I think this is a decent restaurant, maybe even for a date. I recommend it, but you're mainly going for the scenery. I ordered the Southwestern Tuna w/Southwestern Potatoes. The food was good, but the portion was small. All in all, it's different, but not all that special.

you can find high buildings ,and climb on the top to have a super view of the border and of ciudad-juarez,in mexico.from el paso ,you can organize a little tour to mexico,of course,and also to new mexico:
Las Cruces is very near,
but also Taos,
Roswell(he he he),
Santa Fe,
Albuquerque
