Quiet Rooms With Helpful Staff

We stayed at the Residence Inn on two different nights during our recent trip to the El Paso area.

The hotel is located at 6355 Gateway Boulevard West which is adjacent to the I-10 freeway. Once we figured out how to navigate the two Gateway Boulevards finding the hotel was a lot simpler.

The hotel is an older Residence Inn but it has been kept up well. Upon checking in both times we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite complete with a gas fireplace. The room had the usual Residence Inn large frig, oven and microwave. The beds were firm and comfortable and the bathrooms were nice and fully functional.

On weekdays this hotel has a happy hour that includes a light dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the dinner included spaghetti and meatballs, a salad, and even garlic bread. There was an apple cake for desert and beer as well. Quite a spread for a weekday evening and all of it was prepared by helpful and smiling staff.

Breakfast was not quite as good as dinner. Arriving relatively late to the close of breakfast on one day I found that most of the food was gone except for some cereal and juice. However on the second night they had a good selection of hot entrees as well as cold ones.

There are two computers in the Business Center. Unfortunately they worked slow and my wife found that they would throw her out of her office's e-mail every few minutes.

Staff at the Residence Inn were very helpful. Danny went out of his way one night to help get directions to the L & J Cafe and then called the place for us.
