Go see the Horse Stables Tree.
Well, I wouldn't say *absolutely must* because after all, it is just a tree with a planter around it. Anyway, because it is described in the introduction I thought I'd put a photo of it here. Actually, I missed the tree--it's out of the picture on the right (LOL). I just got a photo of Mr. Sel Graham telling us all about it and pointing out where the fort used to be.

In the Stockyards area is a small one room museum about the history of Fort Worth. It is called the Stockyards Collection and Museum. Look for it in the Livestock Exchange building just across street from the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. The front of the museum is in my intro photo behind the longhorn. Inside you can see this chair made of steer horns. The museum is free so it is worth a quick look. In the same building they do sell live stock. I looked in at where buyers were looking at cattle for sale on closed circuit television sets. That was almost as interesting as the museum was.
Western heritage, the White Elephant Saloon
by Maria250 about White Elephant Saloon
Haven't been there as I'm anyway not too much of a night owl yet I took the pics since it does look like an interesting spot!! Pls check out their web page below.
"Don't miss the White Elephant Saloon, an authentic Wild West saloon, which was named one of the "Best 100 Bars in America" by Esquire magazine and was featured in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger. At the White Elephant Saloon, you can enjoy live country and western music and dancing, seven nights a week. Plus, check out the huge collection of cowboy hats on the walls and ceilings, and the extensive collection of elephants from all over the world."
