Hahhaha...Billy Bob's is a (very) large bar, that is so large it has its own live bulls (see http://www.billybobstexas.com/bullriding.htm).
As for more traditional rodeos...The Ft. Worth Livestock Show ends in February (sorry), but The Mesquite Rodeo season starts April 1st - see http://www.mesquiterodeo.com/. Mesquite is on the east side of Dallas (some 40 miles from downtown Ft. Worth.
We have been to the Mesquite Rodeo, but not in its new location...which is AIR-CONDITIONED (ye gods, is nothing sacred??? Rodeo should be outdoors under the sun or stars!!!)
If you're renting a car, it will be easy to get to (maybe not fast, but easy ;-) )...

This isn't in Fort Worth, but probaly the largest rodeo takes place in Houston from March 1-20:
http://www.hlsr.com/
in later March (12-26), there is a large rodeo and fair in Austin:
http://www.staroftexas.org/index.htm
Both of these are big events, with livestock shows, concerts (mainly country&western music), fairs, etc. scheduled during the time, along with the rodeo.
I believe there's also a (smaller) rodeo in Huntsville, TX (in between Dallas and Houston) at the very end of March (Walker County Fair and Rodeo).
If you're able to visit it, though, the Mesquite rodeo would be my suggestion - it's the most traditional of any of these.

share a barbeque with a native! While visiting the Fort Worth area, I had the opportunity to meet my VT friend, Elaine. We went to the Stockyards and shared a great barbeque meal at Riscky's while listening to live country music. It was a really great day!
Tornedo Hits Fort Worth
by keeweechic
On March 28 2000 at 6.15pm, a tornado ripped through downtown Fort Worth killing 5 and injuring over 100. There was something like 500 million dollars in property damage to Fort Worth and surrounding areas. One of the buildings which sustained severe damage was the 37-storey Bank One Tower. When it was built in 1974 it was the tallest building on the Fort Worth Skyline. Initially it was decided to implode the building. For some 2 years the Bank One building sat with its plywood window covers while arguments and decisions were made as to what to do with the building. In the summer of 2004, renovations were underway to convert the building to a residential skyscraper with a new name of 'The Tower'.
The Nancy Lee & Penny R. Bass Performance Hall
by Bullabong
What a beautiful building! There are two 48ft Texas Limestone angels on the exterior of the building that are truly magnificent. They were scuplted by Marton Varo. This building is at 525 Commerce Street and is located in downtown's Sundance Square. It is a permanent venue for the city's acclaimed symphony ballet and opera companies. Special concerts and Broadway style touring productions are staged here as well. There are tours of the building on saturday mornings depending on rehearsal schedules.

I stayed with my uncle in Denton. That is a town not far from Fort Worth. To go from Denton to Fort Worth the main highway is I-35W. From I-35W I saw the giant stadium of the Texas Motor Speedway. The book says it is part of Fort Worth but it seemed closer to Denton to me. There were no races and because I went by at night I have no photos. I can tell you it was biggest auto racing speedway I have ever seen.
Sundance Square
by keeweechic
In the Sundance Square/Downtown area is Outlet Square. There are more than 40 stores to hunt for bargains including Speigel's Ultimate Outlet Store, Mikasa and Computer City.
N.B. See updated note in 'Warnings'.
