Rodeo Invocation
by ATXtraveler
One of the things that is still fairly unique in the world of professional sports is that every rodeo in Fort Worth starts with an invocation. It is a testament to the national sentiment "In God We Trust", and provided a great reminder that all the competitors were to compete in a Christian like demeanor. Sportsmanship was definitely evident here.

Kristi put it just perfect "Even in late September Ft. Worth was still quite hot, in the low 90s, it seems to be a fairly casual city so I was fine with capri pants and nice tops for dinner.."
Pls check out Kristi's Fort Worth packing-list tip I quoted from.

Local Neighborhood Blues Dive
by JamaicaBound about Captain's Den
This neighborhood blues bar & grill is open 7 days a week. Patrons are mostly locals, except for weekends when the blues fans arrive.
Happy hour is 11 am to 2 am every day, plus there are daily drink specials. The grill is open every day until 11 pm, offering hamburgers, chicken, fries, and special plate dinners.
Johnny Mack hosts a blues jam every Tuesday night for local blues musicians. He is a great host -- playing the rubboard and livening up the crowd.
Bands play every Friday and Saturday night. Most are locals, but there are occasionally big name stars. There is no cover. Very casual, although some may dress up a bit on Saturday nights.
