Fort Worth is a big city but still small enough you can ask a passing cowboy on horse back for directions. This cowboy works at the Stockyards area. You'll even see longhorn cattle being herded down the street there. The Fort Worth Herd is the area's tribute to it's growth as a cowtown.
Whatever you usually take. In the summer make sure you bring light clothes shorts,tank tops tee shirts... Because it gets HOT here from june till september. 100+ degrees or better sometimes. The winter is usually mild but it can get pretty chilly in a heartbeat so bring a big coat and warm clothes. You can buy anything in Fort Worth that you need. Go to you local grocery store and get the best deals. Fort Worth has many lakes within driving distance.(Benbrook,Eagle Mountain,Lake Worth)All of these places have campsites and boat docks available. All have pretty good fishing. Sun Block is always a good thing.
Take a drive along I-30 from downtown west from mid- march to early may and enjoy the fields of 'Texas Bluebonnets' which bloom along side the freeway. Enjoy them but don't pick them they are protected as the state flower(but you will still see people taking pictures w/ them)
If you like biking, jogging, rollerblading, and just plan walking around and enjoying nature. Then you will enjoy this 35 miles of network paved and natural paths that follows the river along with spectacular views of many parks and downtown.
Make sure to take a map and water since drinks fountains are not regular on the paths.
Stop by the Vistor Centers in the Stockyards or in the Will Rogers Memorial Center for information.
One part of the trails leads you to the Zoo and Log Cabin Village which is nearby. Marriott Residence Inn and Courtyard is right across the street of the trail and river.
City Streets is Fort Worth's greatest multi-venue entertainment complex. There is actually five clubs under one roof! ATLANTIS is a dance club with a nautical-theme featuring hit music from the 70s and 80s. STRAY CATS: has keyboard comedians duelling and audiences participating in singalongs.
THE BLUE MONKEY LOUNGE is a karaoke bar. CAGES has the current Top 40 contemporary dance music along with a multi-level dance floor. EASY STREET DELI features a full service bar and coffee drinks.
Regular hours of operation are Wednesday-Friday 5 p.m.-2 a.m. and Saturday 7 p.m.-2 a.m.
