We were only staying one night for Memorial Day weekend. When we arrived, they informed us that there were soon to be renovating. I wondered why this was told to us at the beginning with no inquiry into it from me. So, we brought in our things and spent the rest of the evening in the Cultural District of Ft. Worth. We came back to swim and go out to eat dinner, so we were not in the room until we arrived back to go to bed.
The next morning, we were as shocked to see (as I think they were as shocked to see us), cockroaches running everywhere. When we turned on the lights, they ran in and out of the A/C unit, vents in the bathroom, into the closet and across the floor. It was a nightmare. I have luckily avoided roach motels in the past, but for one night, figured La Quinta...you always know what you will get with this hotel chain. Not this time. We packed up immediately, making sure we had no one hitching a free ride, and left the room. We went to the front desk to complain and the clerk was none too surprised. We were told to keep our voice down low since the lobby was full of vacationers, and we were told they knew of the problem. Walking out, I made sure to advise everyone to check their room since the hotel was infested. It was the least I could do since the hotel was not going to do anything about it.
Unique Quality: Not a thing.
