Travel Tips for Fort Worth
The Annual Rodeo and Stock Show

Once a year Ft. Worth hosts the annual Stock Show and Rodeo, which draws rodeo stars and wannabes from all over the world. This three week mega-event was hosted by the Will Rogers Coliseum--it was our first rodeo competition of this magnitude.
A fine display of horsemanship opened the event and the evening began with bucking broncos (see pic#2), then calf roping, barrel racing, bull riding, wagon races and a few comedic moments with clowns and trick animals.
I have discovered a love for rodeos, which began with my first one at the Ft. Worth Coliseum several months earlier--they're 'edge of your seat' exciting!
Outside the coliseum carnival rides were set up for the kiddies(see pic #3). Souvenir booths were selling wares inside and outside (see pic#4). There are several large parking lots nearby, charging from $7-$10.

I just wanted to let everyone know that they should've bet on TEXAS over usc, TEXAS was just letting them score, so they could rip their heart out at the end, it was so fun to watch TEXAS destroy usc. I think that Fort Worth high school could have beat usc, because its in TEXAS. Everything is so much better here, I don't understand why anyone would want to even live in southern california, TEXAS is way bigger and better!

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Dinosaur Valley State Park. It's about 30-40 minutes south of Ft. Worth. In the river that cuts through the park, you can see many fossilized dinosaur footprints. Lots of room for hiking, camping, etc.... It's located right next to the town of Glen Rose. Well worth a visit. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/dinosaur/dinosaur.htm
Muenster

With about a 1-1.5 hour drive up I35, you can find a German-settled town called Muenster. I haven't spent much time there. But, I did attend their annual Germanfest celebration - which is their Octoberfest, only they have it in April. Nevertheless, it's a good time. Polka music, beer, German food, carnival rides, and so on.... Check it out!

J&J Blues Bar is tucked away in a little corner of Ft Worth is J&J's Blues Bar. A well known spot for Blues and R&B fans. Looking more like a large tin shack, inside you will find a cosy atmosphere with table and chairs (with room to move) and a bar.
Flashy old neon signs and gaudy advertising add some colour and for conversation, an assortment of bra's dangle from anything they can find to be draped over. Just the coolest little place. J&J's hosts numerous well known local and national blues bands including some great legends. We saw Kim Wilson (ex The Thunderbirds) who was fantastic. Great little intimate show. Their code : 'We don't have no stinkin dress code! Come dressed to party'.
