This is an interactive museum with exhibits, theatre presentations and authentic memorabilia of the pioneer days of the Southwest. It also has one of the largest collections of branding irons in the world. You will find talking mannequins which really make the legends and stories come alive. Take a closer look at the cowboys, rustlers and lawmen of the old west.
There is a small admission charged and free for children under 4 yrs..

If you have ever seen the reality show ‘Amazing Race’, you will have seen the final episode of Amazing Race 5 where the contestants last stop was in Fort Worth. They had to find their way through the stockyards cattlepen maze several times to find keys and locks. They certainly didn’t have an easy time of it.
Speciality Wine...Strawberry Kiss.
I have already mentioned the Speciality Wines, made by Lightcatcher Winery, Ft. Worth Texas. This one makes me curious enough to definitely visit.
If anyone has tasted this Strawberry Kiss, perhaps you can let me know how sweet it was.. ;-)
You know never know what you may find in or around a museum. Well while just walking thru and along the sidewalk. I had not noticed right way the lovely falls or ponds right behind the museum. I was so taken in by the beauty and tranquility of it. So when you are visiting the Kimball art galleries takes a walk behind and enjoy the tranquility.

The White Elephant Saloon is a traditional Old West saloon on Exchange Avenue... Very authentic.. complete with a long wooden stand up bar.. featuring a dance floor, mixed drinks, beer, wine, & games. There is also an outdoor beer garden which is open April thru October.
Upstairs party room also available for private functions. And Live Texas music 7 nights a week!
