A Lovely Place to Stay

We stayed two nights in the cottage adjacent to the main house, which provided additional privacy with just a short walk across the yard for breakfast. The yard includes a well-maintained flower garded. Everything was very comfortable and in shipshape. We enjoyed gourmet breakfasts and friendly conversation with our hostess, who was obviously interested in the satisfaction of her guests. Since we arrived on Easter Sunday, when not everything would be open, she had gone to the trouble of making a list of restaurants for us that would be serving an evening meal. We would highly recommend Das Garten Haus not only for Fredericksburg but as a base of operations for visiting the surrounding Texas Hill Country.
Great Stay at Das Garten Haus

We just returned from a great weekend stay at Das Garten Haus in Fredericksburg, TX. The property has three rooms laid out around a very pretty courtyard in the backyard of the Proprietor's house. The courtyard has fountains, interesting yard-art, and ample seating so that it was the social gathering spot during our stay. The rooms are nicely decorated and all have attached kitchens, and (most importantly) very comfortable beds. Lynn does an incredible breakfast which is served in the dining room of her home. An enjoyable property with enjoyable owners.

We have had a truly fantastic stay, the suites were like being in a cozy chic retreat. I have to say that the easy access to town is a plus. The wineries were a easy drive. If you feel like chilling the outdoor area is special to be in. We gathered around had wine and relaxed before going to dinner. Whatever you do you can not miss the great Texas stars that capture you.
Lynn is a superb cook and each breakfast was truly a culinary experience. I really enjoyed the vision of the table that was set out for us oh my !!. each day was different. If you are lucky you may get the poached pears. I know I died and went to heaven.
We really had a great time and I look forward to our next visit. I know we have found a new friend..

Wonderful Weekend!

Our children bought this trip for us. They researched B&B's on the net and chose Das Garten Haus. We are so glad that they did! We were met by the owner with the warmest of welcomes. She gave us a tour of her beautiful place and left us with everything we could possibly need, even a list of amazing restaurants. We stayed in the cottage and loved it! The cottage was comfortable and cozy. The gardens were absolutely beautiful! It was so nice to be able to sit outside in the breeze while enjoying the wonderful view of the gardens. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. We felt so pampered during our stay! We are looking forward to a return visit and highly recommend Das Garten Haus as a great place to stay .

We spent four nights and hated to leave. Breakfast each morning was different and expertly prepared. Our hosts were outstanding sources of information on things to do and see in the area. I especially enjoyed sitting on the patio under the hugh magnolia tree. The flower garden was beautiful. The kitchen in our cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed to make an afternoon cup of coffee or tea or even hot cocoa. The refrigerator had fruit juice and cream.

We had a wonderful time in Fredericksburg. It was a pleasure to stay at Das Garten Haus. The breakfasts were awesome, the hospitality delightful. The bed was very comfortable and after walking as much as we did, that was truly heavenly.
We highly recommend Das Garten Haus.

The 3 of us really loved Das Garten Haus, the setting, the location, and the feel of the rooms -- very comfortable, thoughtful and cute, completely furnished and well-decorated, without being cloying and sweet as some B&B's can be. Our hostess was welcoming and available, and also gave us our privacy. After shopping we enjoyed a late-afternoon nap to get out of the sun, drank a glass of wine in their beautiful garden, and appreciated their restaurant recommendation in the evening. Lovely full breakfast in the morning. We would definitely return here!

Four family members enjoyed a stay at the delightful Das Garten Haus B&B - a true respite after a long flight and day of travel! A plate of chocolate chip cookies awaited us in our beautifully decorated cozy four room apartment. Private doors opened from the bedroom to the grape arbor and beautifully maintained gardens below. In the evening we enjoyed sitting outside under the Texas sky and savoring the peace and quiet. Breakfast in the owner's dining room was yet another experience. Fresh fruit accompanied with a Grand Marnier sauce, juice, fresh coffee, and a plate with ham, apple pancake, and shredded potato fritter were simply scrumptious! Afer a long trip from Connecticut, Das Garten Haus was the perfect beginning for our stay in Texas. I hope we can return again some day.
