What Children Activities is available in Fredericksburg, Texas? I heard there is a ART activities program. Is it free? or what? Please let me know! Thanks!
according to my niece who lives in Fredericksburg, there are two "art" type programs for children on an ongoing basis. One is run by the Methodist church as a mom's day out, with arts and crafts for the kids, at 601 West Creek St.
the other is a children's program at the public library.

We had a very leisurely trip to Frederickburg, peppered with frequent naps. Unfortunately, even on a busy weekend most of the shops close at 8 pm. We woke early the next day on a Sunday and were disappointed to find that most of the shops would not open until 10 am.
For only $1 you can tour the entire National Historical Park of LBJ's ranch. When I went we drove but there was a big family who biked the entire way. Just be careful in the summer...it can be very hot!
*You do have to put a certain sticker on the bike that you get from the ranger at the visitors center...so make sure to stop by the center first. Bring your own bike and equipment for it because nothing is provided.
NINE MILES EAST OF FREDERICKSBURG ON HIGHWAY 290 is where you will find this fine vineyard and winery. We actually prefer their wines over the nearby Becker winery, but that's just us. The business is named for the Grape Creek which flows by the vineyard. They grow high quality Vinifera grapes for their winemaking, and they do it very well.

We dashed into the Java Ranch restaurant on our last morning in Fredericksburg (pictures 1 & 2). This casual eatery was busily serving up meals, while friendly banter filled the dining room. A large cowboy mural covered one long wall, adding a Western flair to the restaurant (picture #3).
Once you decide which meal you want from the listings on a large sign above the kitchen, you place your order then grab a table when it becomes available. Java Ranch was listed as a restaurant choice on our breakfast vouchers.
We were in a hurry to eat, so that we could continue with the day's final plans. Scrambled eggs, a few slices of crisp bacon, toast with jelly and a hot cup of tea made a satisfying and delicious meal.
Since breakfast arrived fairly quick, we were able to get back on the road as hoped. We said "goodbye" to our friends, each of us planning to see our last views of Fredericksburg.
THIS WINERY IS VERY FRIENDLY AND IS WELL-ORGANIZED. It would be a very good "first" winery for those who have never visited one. The wines are lined up from dry to sweet and the visitor gets a thorough explanation of what he/she is tasting. There is no charge for the tasting.
The gift shop is large and well stocked. Its a fun experience to visit this winery, and as a bonus, they have some pretty good wines!
