More about Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast

Like staying in your best friends home!!!

by TripAdvisor Member maryburtsmom

I travel a lot for business and never sleep well. This B&B was my first experience and it was AWESOME!. The quiet elegance and friendly hosts make you feel like family (only better!). The property is quiet and charming. The rooms are sweet, cozy and very well appointed. The attention to detail in this home is amazing!! Claude makes the absoluetly best breakfast I have ever had! This rates a 12 out of 10 by me. It far surpassed my wildest expectations! I hope to be back in Fredricksburg again soon and I know where I will stay. Thanks to Lisa and Claude for making this trip wonderful.

Pleasantly Pampered

Our stay at the Magnolia House was wonderful. The owners were incredibly hospitable and the B&B reflected serious attention to detail -- from the bug spray available to guests on the patio table to the little Dixie cups left in the bathroom. The breakfasts were heaven. We booked the Peach Blossom Room, and the only things that might have made our stay nicer was a more comfortable bed and thicker walls. We had a hard time sleeping the first night because (we thought) the mattress was too firm, and we also noticed that you could hear activity downstairs (footsteps, kitchen noises, etc.). Of course, the thinness of the walls also meant you could smell breakfast cooking in the mornings! One other thing: Be aware that if you rent the Peach Blossom Room, your private bathroom is actually split into two parts. The clawfoot tub is next door to the left, and your sink and toilet are next door to the right. Overall, we would recommend it, and will most likely return to stay in a larger room.

Our 25th Anniversary Celebration

by TripAdvisor Member Heartfelt07

I just had the most wonderful time celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration at The Magnolia House. We had the entire house for family and friends. Claude and Lisa spared absolutely nothing for our visit. They helped with arrangements and took every detail personal. They helped making phone calls, deliveries, directions and personalized our celebration with all sorts of special touches. We took pictures, played games, had a ceremony and so much more. This was actually more fun than our wedding day 25 years ago!

My family and friends were so excited, we couldn't leave without booking the same time next year. For the acceptance and great, genuine care, Joseph and I will forever be grateful to both Claude and Lisa for our phenomenal stay at The Magnolia House.

Best B & B ever!

Just a delightful one night get-a-way! We were greeted immediately and given a tour of the beautiful home along with a little history. I don't know what else they could do to make us more comfortable and welcome. It was perfect. We used every part of the house, from the scenic patio, to the living room, and everything in between. The breakfast was terrific. We will be back!

We won't stay anywhere else

The perfect Bed and Breakfast stay. We have been going to Fredericksburg every year for seven years now, and we won't stay anywhere else. The breakfasts are delicious and unique every morning. Is like going to grandma's house and she caters to you! We also enjoy meeting all kinds of interesting people at the breakfast table. The rooms are very comfortable and beautiful. Claude and Lisa will absolutly do anything to make your stay unforgetable.

nice stay, great breakfast!

We celebrated our first anniversary by going to Oktoberfest and staying at the Magnolia House. The owner gave us a tour and the history of the home which was very interesting. There are snacks and drinks available all day long, including made from scratch fresh baked cookies. They cooked us a delicious, healthy breakfast every morning and the entree is different every day. They also take special dietary needs into account. They really try hard to make your stay comfortable. The overall stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks!

the perfect stay

This is my third stay in Magnolia House in 2007. I brought my friends from all places to come here to experience the authentic Southern hospitality (and the delicious breakfasts) . They were all impressed by how attentive Lisa and Claude are.

Everytime I came to Magnolia House, I am the chief photographer taking pictures of happy faces at every corner of the house. I have not lost any of my enthusiasm over the frequent visits because the decors varied according to the different seasons. I seen bunnies during Easter time, the many flowers during spring/summer time. This last visit was with Christmas trees and stockings... My photo albums are filled with the beautiful pix of my friends in Magnolia house.

Before I discovered Magnolia House, I always thought that Austin is the heaven in Texas, now I discover this piece of jewel in Fredericksburg, I will keep on coming back whenever I have to bring friends to the Hill country, or for myself as a treat.

Magnolia house is fantastic!

by TripAdvisor Member schnappiegirlie

We LOVED the Magnolia House. The property is beautifully decorated and impeccably maintained, and the innkeepers pay incredible attention to detail--in the decor, the service and the delicious food. You will not be disappointed by a stay here. We stayed in the Bluebonnet Suite, which was spacious, comfortable and cozy. Every little thing we could have wanted was provided, without extra charges. Snacks and drinks were also available in our suite. The Inn was decorated for Christmas while we were there, and each room--and bathroom--had been decked out for the season.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing. A true gourmet breakfast, freshly prepared and served on a beautiful table. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests, as well as our hosts, who pay close attention to the needs of every guest. Don't leave without buying the Magnolia House cookbook!

We look forward to our next trip to Magnolia House. We give it five stars!

My husband & I have stayed several times at the Magnolia House and enjoy it more every time! This time it was decorated so nicely with Holiday decor--very inviting! Claude & Lisa, the innkeepers, always do a wonderful job with breakfast, as well as advise us on new restaurants and other places to visit---well worth a visit!!
