Casa Del Mar, Galveston, TX - Reviews and Hotel Information

George and I got this postcard in the mail."YOU have WON!!! a free Vacation Getaway for 3 nights and four days in"..you get the idea. The Hubby decided it would be "fun" to go, so he called. We had the priveledge of staying in a very strange suite of rooms for the time period mentioned if we just "listened to a brief review of the Condo's amenities". Yeah, right, It was a five hour boring beyond belief seminar about how we too could become the proud owners of this beachfront property (a room owner).

If we chose not to listen to the schpiel, we would have to pay for the room.

We listened (and listened, and listened. sigh)

The room was nice, if a bit weird. there was a bunk bed set up in the front hall right inside the door. Then the bedroom was on the left through a door, or we could walk through the hall past the bunkbeds, and see the bathroom, then a kitchen and eventually a tiny living room with a balcony. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots pans and plates. No food in the fridge, but I guess I couldn't expect that. The bed was hard and the room was cramped. there was barely room to walk around to the far side of the bed without scraping up against the wall.

The sofa in the living area was hard as a rock, but could be pulled out for another queen size bed. There is no restaurant nearby, so you have to cook your own meals (whether you want to or not).
There was a really nice swimming pool, but it faces (on both sides) the parking garage, so the smell of exhaust is noticeable and the people coming and going tend to gawk at anyone in the pool area. It just feels uncomfortable.

unless you want to join in the timeshare of this place I would suggest going anywhere else.

Its a "vacation condo club resort". A TIMESHARE!
Close to the area sights like Moody Gardens.
