    • The best and cheaper way is to stay Inns.. at least they are clean !!!!
    Dont try Motels.. mostly they are dirty and disgusting and you will get a bad service! Cause mostly poor foreign people own them.
    So go with Inns or hotels! The good service and comfort are guaranteed !!!

    While vacationing in San Antonio, I opt to stay on the Riverwalk. That way I could just park the car and walk around. I stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was a great location. Many things to see and do and all within walking distance.
    $130 US dollers per night

    The pricing was fair and the room view was awesome. I had a private balcony that over looked the San Antonio River. The pool and hot tub are located on the roof. It appears that not many of the customers are aware of this because no one was ever at the pool but myself.

    The Driskill brings old world elegance to the Central Texas region. It is THE place to stay when you are in Austin. It has hardwood floors, high ceilings, marble columns, leaded glass and exudes charm and elegance.

    It was once the home of a cattle baron and it shows. These newly rich people felt that they had soemthing to prove to the old money from the East and they tried to outdo each other with style and taste. In soem cases it came out gaudy but this is not one of them. The Driskill is an example of one of the shining successes of these empire builders.

    Stately, refined, period piece, genteel.

    • We don't exactly have a thriving B&B industry that I am aware of. Good cheap accomidations to be had at Motel 6, good pricy accomidations to be had at Marriot and Hylton... let your wallet be your guide. Except, if you are going to Port Aransis, DEFFENATELY stay at the SeaHorse Inn. Freindly, Small, sort of an anything goes enclosed swimming pool, every room has a porch and a grill, the suits and the bungalos are worth the extra money.

    • Dallas - La Quinta Inn Dallas City Place, 4440 N. Central Expressway. Ph: 75206-6525. Nice refreshing swimming-pool.
    Austin - La Quinta Inn Austin Capitol, 300 E. 11th St, Ph: (512) 476-1166. Conveniently located within walking distance of 6th street.
    El Paso - Gardner Hotel and HI, 311 East Franklin Ave. Ph:915-532-3661. Email: info@GardnerHotel.com. Very nice: recommened.
    San Antonio - Bullis House B&B and HI - across the road from Fort Sam Houston. Ph: 210-223-9426, I recommend the B&B, not the HI.
    Fort Stockton - Comanche Motel & Hostel, 1301 E. Dickinson Blvd. Ph: (915) 336-8447. A nice quiet hostel in a desert location: highly recommended.
    Wimberley - Blair House, 100 Spoke Hill Road. I have not been there, but my friend Krysten from Austin recommends it.

    Very old nice hotel. As we arived very late in the evening they had no room for us
    although we had booked for one week. So we slept one night in a conference room.
    We got the John Wayne Suite for the rest of the week. Wow! Where John Wayne slept when making his famous movie 'Remember the Alamo'. Well it was great. We couldn't afford it - but they had no other room to give. So we got it.
