Super 8: Decent Budget Motel in Kerrville
This was a pretty decent place but still nothing to raise it above, or put it below, average. Right on the interstate and acceptable.

This was a pretty decent place but still nothing to raise it above, or put it below, average. Right on the interstate and acceptable.

This is a typical bare bones Motel 6 but was a bit more expensive than I expected. Really nothing to raise it above, or drop it below, average. $70 as of April 2012.

If you want to take a step up from the Super 8, try the Best Western Marina Grand. The hotel has nice facilities and is still reasonable. About $100 as of April 2012.
Close to many attractions in town.

Many of the places I write up are nice places to stop as you go from one place to another. Corpus Christi is a destination itself. And if you are coming here to stay a little while, why not stay in a nice place? The Super 8-Bayfront is a nice compromise between luxury and budget. Price as of April 2012 started at $64. Not the fanciest place on the bay but nice and a great deal for the price.
Close to many of the attractions in town.

This is neither the most luxurious nor the most historic hotel in Texas but it is worth a stay for several reasons: 1) New Braunfels is a really neat town; 2) this is a very nice hotel and is well worth the price (I love a great deal); 3) the guy who runs the hotel, Manish, is a very nice guy. He is personable, of good character, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend the place highly.

The place had a few extras like a small refrigerator and a microwave but half the lamps had no bulbs, the batteries in the remote were dead and their breakfast was not that impressive I would expect better for $68 in April 2012. Try another place.

Here is a chance to stay in a historic hotel; and it is affordable. The Hotel Limpia was built in 1912 and had a doctor's office, a drugstore, and fine dining to go with the luxurious rooms. It has been restored with an eye toward authenticity and you can get rooms here starting at about $99 ($89 with a discount). Great (but expensive) bistro on site.

There were no real extras in this motel; but the bed was comfortable and the TV nice, and it was cheap. The girl that checked me in was nice. Unfortunately things went downhill the next morning. They did not have spoons for the breakfast so I had to eat my cereal with a fork. They only had one type of cereal. Then the ultimate sin, they were out of coffee! The guy at the front desk was not that nice; but he appeared to be having a bad day. All in all though I probably would not stay here again. $54 as of April 2012.

Looked like a dump outside but so did the others. Had a few extras like a small refrigerator and a microwave. No computer in lobby. Not bad. Desk clerk looked bored and unhappy but Menard probably does not excite many young women. No Breakfast, no coffee :-(. $40 in April 2012.

The Kermit Inn looked acceptable outside and in, and had a few extras like a small refrigerator and a microwave. However, some of the lights did not work and the computer in the lobby appeared to be infected with malware or a virus. Acceptable breakfast, The problem was it is too expensive for what you get. $84 in April 2012.

Q: Austin "I'm looking to do a weekend trip to Austin in/around April 2012 to surprise my fiance. He loves music and a huge Stevie Ray Vaughn..."
A: "Hi Kim - you definitely want to stay in the downtown area if you want to go out at night and listen to music. Lots of bars on 4th, 5th and 6th St. and if you don't have..."
