Sunset Beaches to die for... Even in the Winter
i went to Galveston in January, and found it extremely pleasant, even hot during the day. It's best to stay for the sunset, because the drabness of the city dissapears and all you can see are colors and lights reflecting off the ocean.
Check out my Galveston travelogue with more photographs:
It's do or die on the streets of Houston. PLEASE GO THE SPEED LIMIT...even if you are lost. There is no patience for driving in Houston. Turn signals are obsolete. Look, squeeze in, and be prepared for traffic.
Don't take it personal....it's just the way it is.
Great Sports Bar, Great Wings!
Buffalo Wild Wings, formerly known as BW3, is a great chain of sports bars found here in Houston, and throughout the country. An excellent place to drink some beer, eat some wings, and watch some sports! I usually frequent the one located in the Rice Village, but I have been to most of the locations here in town, and they are all equally good. They do have a full menu of food to order, but the place does have the word "wings" in it's name, so I would strongly recommend trying some. They also have a wide variety of beers, both domestic and import, and mixed drinks if you prefer. Big Screen T.V.'s, full glasses of beer, and lots of buffalo wings! What else would you want?!!!
The Houston Zoo is great for all you zoo lovers and those travelling with children! There are many exhibits, and there is almost always some kind of newborn animal. When I went, I paid only $1.50, however, there has been a recent price increase to $5 for adults and $2 for children (age 2-12). It is still worth it, though. And, near certain holidays, they do offer free days. Just check the website.
Daily from 10a-6p
