nice place to stay
The Drury is a good place to stay when on business or pleasure in far west Houston. The rooms are clean, and they offer a free breakfast that is better than most. Access to I-10 is very good (although I-10 is often at a standstill). The lobby area is very nice for this kind of business/family facility. They have a glass-sided elevator and open area that at least makes it seem as if they are imitating big expensive places. There is somewhat controlled access to the parking lot, and pretty good controlled access to the hallways. I think security here would be better than average in this area. They have a stairway that is accessible for those like me who can't stand the thought of taking an elevator for only one or two stories. The TV comes with HBO and about 23 channels. The big weakness on the TV is that they don't have FOX News, ESPN 2, Fox Sports South, or E!.
Unique Quality: The most outstanding feature right now is the free internet access. I'm currently signed onto the internet through the LAN access on my laptop. I've never used that port before tonight, and I'm thrilled at the great access. VT'ers would greatly enjoy being able to plug their laptops into the line and record their adventures from the hotel.
