When visiting Houston, you...

When visiting Houston, you absolutely must go to NASA. My fondest memory of Houston is being eight years old and walking into the Astrodome for the first time with my parents and four older brothers to watch the Astros play the Expos.
This is the Acquarium...
by bdbrewer
This is the Acquarium Restaurant in the area my daughter lives in. Lots of luck getting into here. You have to put your name on a waiting list. BUT, there is plenty to do while you are waiting, to include enjoying your favorite beverage, so do not miss it. It's a great experience. It is in the Kemah Boardwalk area.
Little Tacos, Big Taste
by spgood301 about 100% Taquito
100% Taquito is, well, just that - THE place in Houston to get those little mini tacos. And they are sooooo delicious.
The first thing you notice when you walk in is an actual Mexico City taxicab, stripped out & painted, and right in the middle of the restaurant. Just part of the authentic Mexican ambience.
Grab a menu, go to the counter and order some of their yummy taquitos. They're served in either corn or flour shells, generally three taquitos per order. Don't forget the white onions and cilantro. Spice your taquitos up at their salsa bar: choose from mild, hot, in between. I especially like the pico de gallo. Then, sit down - they have both indoor and outdoor seating - and enjoy.
Genuine Mexican food in a great atmosphere...and cheap too. One of my favorite places to eat in Houston.
Eclectic fancy "green" American, Downtown Houston
by XenoHumph about The Grove
This is an expensive restaurant located Downtown near the Convention Center. It serves American food, with an original twist, range of meat, fish, and vegetarian. The building is all super ecological, as well as the furniture, made of recycled or natural materials. The decoration and architecture is certainly unique and quite nice, very modern. They are also eco-friendly by having their own vegetable and herb garden (on the roof!), and recycling everything they use. During the day, nice view and terrace overlooking the nearby park, Discovery Green. Excellent service. Reservations recommended.
The Galleria - Westheimer
by keeweechic
The Galleria Westheimer has got to be Houstons best shopping mall or at very least, the most well known. The mall is set beneath large glass atriums and has over 300 shops and restaurants with many designer brands featured.
There is an ice skating rink on the bottom which can best be viewed from the upper levels. Be careful of taking photos here, if the security guard sees you he will ask if you have a permit.
There are no signs up to tell you that you can't but fortunately I had my photos already. If you do want to do it legally, you need to go to the managers office and ask for a permit.
