Holiday Inn Houston-Near The Galleria

This Courtyard by Marriott Houston Galleria hotel is no longer a Courtyard. It lost its Courtyard flag about a year ago. This hotel is now a Holiday Inn.

There is a brand new Courtyard by Marriott Houston Galleria which opens on August 16, 2007. It is accross the street from the Galleria at 2900 Sage Road right behind the Homewood Suites by Hilton (they share a driveway).

Unique Quality: The new Courtyard will have an indoor pool, hot tub, cafe offering made to order omlettes and full breakfast, lounge with full bar and lite fare. There is over 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

This was the worst Marriott Courtyard me and my family has ever stayed at. This hotel was a certified dump. The location from the hotel to the Galleria was not bad (about a block away), but inside appearance and staff's attitude made this stay miserable. Traffic from the hotel to the Galleria was horrible, you could walk faster to the mall than drive your car. Staff was stingy with the amenities (soap, towels, and toiletries), and were annoyed when asked for additional supplies. The elevators reeked with the stench of urine, and the carpets looked as if they haven’t seen a vacuum cleaner in a very long time. Parking was another nuisance as the front of the lobby was filled with cars, and the covered garage was dark, dank, and very musty. The walls to the rooms were paper-thin, and noise complaints went unanswered. The breakfast buffet offered by the hotel wasn’t very impressive, just expensive. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere; it’s not worth the hassle.
