There are I believe 2 multiplex theatres.

You will find the newer one in the GALLERIA 2 phase of the mall. Downstairs. Just look for the giant atrium with glass elevators !!

Are you sure it is not the galleria of Dallas ?

The only ones I know (so far) are the AMC30 which is about 3 miles West from Galleria along Westheimer (in fact it's on a road between Westheimer and Richmond) and the Edwards on the I10 near Ikea.
I think there may be another Edwards on Richmond nearer the Galleria, however I'm not sure!
However surely the Galleria has it's own?? I'm sorry I don't know, it's not a Mall I've explored much of yet!

Travel Tips for Houston

Tranquility Park Fountain

by XenoHumph

This modern fountain, located in the heart of downtown Houston, is beautiful! The spot is also ideal to survey the Houston skyline. This park was built in 1979 by C. Tapley and J. Lunow. Its name derives from the lunar Sea of Tranquility where the first men landed on the Moon with the words "Houston, the Eagle has landed" (Houston is where NASA mission control was and is still located).

Directions
Downtown Houston, near Sam Houston Park.
I45 N: exit McKinney
I45 S: take I45 N to Allen Parkway
59 N: exit Capitol
59 S: take I45 N

Traffic

by msbrandysue

Please know if you are heading anywhere into/around Houston with a time frame allow enough time for traffic. This applies especially around downtown. There is usually some type of road construction. If it has rained there is flooding. If there is anything fun going on there will be many people trying to get there as well. Always allow extra time!

Great New Restaurant Attraction!

by Ken_Weaver about The Aquarium Restaurant

The Aquarium Restaurant is unique in the respect that it is built around a 150,000 gallon aquarium full of incredible fish and other sea life. There are several other tanks in various parts of the restaurant in addition to the center aquarium. While you are eating, huge schools of fish swim by. The tables are out away from the tank so everyone has a good view. Manta rays, flounder, sharks are all a part of the activity.

The aquamarine theme is carried out throughout the restaurant right down to the ties that the servers wear.

Dress is casual. The place is great for kids...special menu and souvenirs for all. We visited on a Saturday night at 10pm and waited in the Dive Bar for 45 minutes for a call on a pager that they give you. Then we went upstairs to the dining room and waited another 15 minutes to be seated. Service was prompt but not very personable. The place is very noisy, yet fun. I ordered the Sake Marinated Seabass. It was quite excellent..very moist and flavorful....served over a blend of Oriental vegetables and accompanied with what they called shrimp dumplings. They were very good but more like potstickers. My daughter, who came to visit me on Father's Day Weekend, ordered the Salmon which was charbroiled as was my seabass. Portions were quite adequate. They offered a wonderful selection of desserts but for us it was late and we were full!

They did not take reservations.

Parking is limited downtown but valet parking is offered for $8.00 or you can use the self park lot for $3.00 per hour.

Herman Memorial Park-Visit Here

by AVG2319

Favorite park in the Houston area. Near the medical center, museums, houses the pretty Japanese Tea garden, take a train ride around the park with the kids. Play at the playground, picnic under great big shade trees, go for a jog, let the kids run through the water fountains on a hot day. Beautiful park in Houston.

Rocket Park

by keeweechic

Rocket Park was closed to the public following the 9/11 attack. Later in 2002, it was reopened with strict guidelines.

Your tram will bring you to the park but your guide will enforce the rules of remaining on the footpaths only and no venturing onto the grass areas for photos.
