Reliant Stadium
by kd_baby
This stadium is unreal! It has a retractable roof and can hold about 70,000 people. Aside from its beautiful layout and design, Reliant Stadium is juxtaposed with the Astrodome...literally. It dwarfs the Astrodome in shear height and volume. Bring any of your normal football gear.

by newyorker300
The best bar in Houston, I say this because it is very cool and because i used to go to the one in nyc. i was excited to find out that the original is in houston. It is the gingerman..in rice village. it is between rice and university on morningglory or something like that....very easy to find...it will have all the cars around it and look like someone's house with bouncers.

The NASA
by GUYON
It is impossible to go to Houston without visiting the Space Center.
To say the truth, the center is mainly made for children.
There are :
- two tram tours to visit the Johnson Center beside, with a guide who explains the various space relics
- two movies on the Space quest
- an amusing presentation of the life in the space
- a show : how the center works
- the astronaut gallery
We bought also food conditioned to be eaten in space...
Ticket : 22$50 (less 2$ with a coupon)
Senior : 20$95
Children : 17$95
Parking : 4$
Next year we visited Cape Canaveral to see the other face.
Old Town Spring
by msbrandysue
The Old Town of Spring, Texas is still alive with the old houses turned into quaint shops and specialty stores. The prices are quite high but it's especially fun around Christmas time to see the place decorated and hopping with busy shoppers. I like to go on quiet weekends to visit the local businesses and shop for one-of-a-kind gifts.
Old Town Spring offers restaurants, eateries, wine tastings, and more. So you can visit even if your pocket book is not very deep. The last two times I've spent three dollars total on a quick drink.
The streets are very packed so be careful. I would highly recommend the parking on the left of the shops. Take the right fork on the road and turn right at the first intersection. You'll see it on the right. That's the only place to park during their wine, crawfish, and Christmas festivals. During those times you might be charged to something like $3-5 to park but on off weekends I've never had to pay for parking. You can also try parking on the street if you're good at parrallel parking.
I enjoy the shop owners more than I do the merchandise. They are usually very friendly and helpful. It makes it hard to walk out empty handed though...
Old Town Spring also has two bathroom facilities. One up by the front of the area and another towards the parking area. They are not port-a-potties!! I hate those things...
Towards the front you'll also find the Spring Museum which has old artifacts that show how this land became to be so populated and busy. It's free but the nice lady volunteering is too cute to resist donating a few dollars. Make sure to skip the Civil War Museum...
