Kemah Boardwalk: Mexican Place
by msbrandysue about Cadillac Mexican Restaurant
Inside the Kemah Boardwalk you will see an array of food choices. The buildings are HUGE and when you get out there you start fumbling with which one you might choose. If you are in the mood for mexican food than Cadillac is going to be your place.
It is actually a part of the Landry's restaurant chain. They have multiple floors to eat on and even a choice to eat outdoors viewing some of the water. On weekend nights they will usually have live music as well, but it makes it hard to talk while seated outdoors. I don't think we actually ate here. I think we just had some of the free chips and salsa while we had a view margaritas.
Take In The Boardwalk

Boardwalks are popular destinations, especially for families. The Kemah Boardwalk offers restaurants, shops and rides for the kids! Try the Ferris Wheel or take the train; jump onto the Crazy Submarine or try your skill on the Climbing Wall. My favorite ride has always been the Carousel, because it's not something that spins or careens seemingly out-of-control. Midway games are also here to challenge you.
Kemah holds many special events throughout the year. Some of these events are:
The Yachty Gras Weekend (Feb.)
Blues on the Boardwalk (Mar.)
Polynesian Weekend, (April)
Rock the Dock Concert Series (May-summer)
Fireworks Friday(beginning June)
Krazy Kid Monday (features 1/2 price tickets in July)
Laser Show Spectacular (August nights after 9:30 pm)
Zydeco Festival (Sept.)
Boo on the Boardwalk (Oct.)
Nutcracker Ballet Vignette (November)
Annual Christmas Boat Parade (December).
**The Kemah boardwalk was constructed in 2001 by Landry's Restaurants, Inc.
Kemah Boardwalk

Kemah Boardwalk is about an hour from Houston (including traffic). It is a miniature version, however, so if you are expecting the works don't get that excited. However, for a day/night away from the city it's a great solution. There are rides for children (even a new roller coaster), fun restaurants, shopping, and all while listening to (and smelling) the gulf. Most of the restaurants have live music, too, on the weekends. Kemah also have a few hotels available if you want to make a weekend trip out of it!
I would definitely recommend it for a family trip!
I would also recommend looking at their calendar of events on the website while planning your trip to Houston because they often have celebrations (usually towards each holiday), concerts, and special occassions which you can have fun with. Most are centered towards kids but others focus on guys (Houston Texans, race car days, etc).
*When you first find your way there you will see some cheap parking prices. My advice would be to go directly to Kemah's parking. It is free and we have always been able to park there. Some people assume there aren't any paces and then end up paying $5-$10USD when they could have parked a whole lot closer and cheaper. Save that money for a pina colada! :)
A day at Kemah Boardwalk

"A Day at Kemah Boardwalk"
Kemah Boardwalk is a fun place to visit. We usually find ourselves going there when friends or family come to visit us from out of town. Since my last visit, they have added a wooden roller coaster. Now from what I hear, the locals who live around there aren't too happy with that because of the noise factor, but it's there and it is what it is! We didn't ride it because my in-laws did and they said it was a bumpy ride.
"Texas Heat"
Well, when I moved to Texas, I was overwhelmed by the humidity and heat here. But after living here for 8 years, you kind of get used to it. But after being out in the heat alll day long, BOY was it HOTTT!!! So if you plan on heading here, wear light clothing and you may want to bring an umbrella for that shade!
"Along the boardwalk"
There are carnival games you can play along the boardwalk, tons of rides and plenty of places to eat like Joe's Crabshack, Saltgrass Steakhouse and the Aquarium. Pretty pricey in my opinion!

"Why Did I Come??"
I came to Kemah to go to Kemah Boardwalk with Shanna while on our small summer adventure.
"My Favorite Part"
My favorite part of Kemah is......the ambience: rides, shopping, music, restaurants, games, etc.
"Surprise Attraction"
I really liked eating at the Aquarium. Great food. Great view of the tank while eating. Prices aren't cheap but it's a great way to splurge.
