TEXAS...MESQUITE..EVERYONE HAVIN' A GREAT TIME
The Historic Mesquite Inc. sponsors this spring event every May to raise money for park preservation. There are choirs, mock gunfights, storytelling, games and races, living-history demonstrations, food, crafts and a kite-flying area.

Lake Ray Hubbard is just a 10 min drive from Mesquite. It is a 22,000-acre reservoir and recreational area which starts in Mesquite and extends up into areas of Garland, Rockwall, Rowlett and Forney. Very popular in the Texas summer with boating and swimming activities, unfortunately drownings occur all too frequently. National Sailboat races and bass fishing tournaments are held annually on the lake.

This hall is used for many exhibition including the popular gun Show. The exhibition hall is located next to Big Town Mall which was the first enclosed mall in the southwest, opening in 1959. The mall has really declined with the opening of Town East Mall but there is still a sporting goods store there.
